Additional signed Artwork Submission and Release and Image Authorization forms will be required from all educators or adult representatives with selected works for display in the Young Art 2025 Nurture and Nature Exhibition, or works cannot be shown. These forms will be required to be attached with the chosen artwork to the San Diego Museum of Art on January 31st or February 1st, 2025.
Young Art 2025: Nurture and Nature Submission Guidelines

Artwork Specification
• A representing adult, parent, or educator may submit a youth work of art
•Each adult representative may submit up to 10 works total on behalf of youth artists. The ability to submit 10 entries is designed to accommodate representatives who are entering on behalf of multiple artists, grade levels or school sites. Within to 10 submission per account limit representatives are requested to consider submitting no more than 5 artwork entries from any single grade and no more than 3 entries from any single student artist.
• Collaborative projects will be accepted and are encouraged.
• All works of art entered must be the ideation and effort of youth (K-12).
• Student works of art must be original in expression.
• Works of art must be created during the 2024/2025 school year.
• Works of art can be two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
• High Resolution JPG or PNG file of each student's work requested. For digital video files .mp4 is preferred.
Note, image may be used for inclusion on the SDMArt.org website and marketing purposes.
Materials/Media
• Works of art must be original and may be created with any medium or material. Organic materials (e.g. natural materials, food, etc.) cannot be displayed in the Museum.
• Digital images and video and audio files are acceptable.
• Please coat all chalk, charcoal, or pastel artworks with a fixative before submitting.
• All materials must be firmly affixed to the object’s surface.
• Please do not mat or frame any works of art. Two-dimensional pieces will be professionally matted by the Museum.
Size and Weight Restrictions
Each submitted piece should align with the following dimensions in inches:
• Standard sized two-dimensional works: ranging from 4 x 6 to 24 x 32: 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 6 x 9, 8 x 8,
8 x 10, 8.5 x 11, 9 x 12, 11 x 14, 12 x 12, 12 x 18, 16 x 20, 18 x 24, or 24 x 32.
• Three-dimensional works: Not to exceed 12 x 12 x 12
• Weight Limits: 2D Works: 5 lbs., 3D Works: 25 lbs.
